Oakdale House is a supervised short term residential alternative to hospitalization for adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. Oakdale House offers intensive, individualized multidisciplinary treatment services in the comfort of a home-like setting with the goal of stabilizing a psychiatric crisis in as normal an environment as possible. Beginning at arrival, residents help develop their own plans for recovery and continued care in the community. Residents also participate in daily therapeutic activities and are encouraged to play an active role in the operation of the household.

Daily Services Include:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Nursing Services
  • Medication Administration
  • Psycho-Education Group
  • Family Counseling (as needed)
  • Supportive Group Counseling
  • Psychiatry (as needed)
  • Coordination with other healthcare providers (as needed)

Crisis Residential is ideal for adults who:

  • Need psychological, psychiatric, medical and or social support to avert an acute care psychiatric hospitalization
  • Have recently been discharged from an acute care inpatient setting and require short-term intensive community integration assistance
  • Require 24-hour medication monitoring/adjusting
  • Respond positively to a small, more intimate treatment setting

Oakdale House staff includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, certified peer support specialists, and trained direct care workers. Staff is trained in the evaluation and treatment of persons with mental illness and substance use disorder.
