Traditional Outpatient
Services Hegira's Mental Health and
Substance Abuse Outpatient Treatment Programs offer a variety of
services designed to meet the unique needs of each adult or family.
Services include assessment and evaluation, referral to external
resources, crisis resolution, short-term traditional treatment, and
long-term management of chronic conditions.

Intensive Outpatient Services Hegira Programs
Intensive
Outpatient Programs (IOP) are structured highly focused
services for adults (18 years of age and older) with substance abuse problems
and or substance abuse and mental health problems. HPI's experienced
IOP professional staff consists of psychiatrists, social workers,
psychologists and professional counselors.
Our IOP teams work together to ensure that
assessments and treatment approaches are comprehensive and
individualized. Team interventions focus on understanding the
disease of addiction, effective relapse prevention planning and

Detoxification Services
HPI offers detoxification for adults 18 years and older who
require a structured, 24-hour medically monitored setting to safely manage
the physical withdrawal from substance of abuse.
HPI's experienced staff include physicians, psychiatrists,
nurses, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, and patient
care attendants, each with a specialization in the care of person
recovering from substance abuse and or co-occurring mental health and

Short-Term Residential
HPI offers Short-term Residential treatment services to
adults 18 years and older who require a structured, safe, professionally
monitored environment to establish abstinence from substance of abuse.
HPI's experienced staff include physicians, psychiatrists,
nurses, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, recreational
and art therapists and patient care attendants, each with a specialization
in the care of persons recovering from substance abuse and or co-occurring

Domiciliary Intensive Outpatient
HPI offers Domiciliary Intensive Outpatient programs (DIOP)
to adults 18 years and older who require a structured, safe, supportive
environment to establish abstinence from substance of abuse.
Consistent with HPI's other intensive substance abuse
treatment programs, DIOP professional teams work together to ensure that
assessments and treatment approaches are comprehensive and
individualized. DIOP combines professionals and peer support services to
facilitate understanding the disease of addition, effective relapse
prevention planning and development of a healthy, satisfying

Day Treatment
Hegira Programs Day Treatment program is for adults 18
years and older with primary substance or substance abuse and a
co-occurring mental health disorder.
HPI's Day Treatment staff includes psychiatrists, nurses,
psychologists, social workers, and professional counselors, each with a
specialization in the care of persons recovering from substance abuse
and or co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. To

Court Services
HPI offers services approved by the District Courts Probation Department for
persons requiring evaluation, educational programs in the areas of
drugs and alcohol, aggressive behavior or shoplifting and or random
drug screening as part of probation. This program also offers State
of Michigan approved Driver's License Appeal Division (DLAD)
evaluations and reports for driver's license reinstatement
applications.
HPI's Court Program staff is closely linked to the local courts and
is experienced in the necessary communications and other probation
requirements. Random drug screening is monitored and follows legal

Prevention Services
Hegira's Prevention Center offers an array of community
and school-based services aimed to prevent or reduce the incidence of
the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) in our communities.
Our certified prevention staff is trained in various
evidence-based interventions, work with community groups to both
initiate and proliferate the impact of community coalitions and actively

Children with Serious Emotional
Disorders
HPI provides strength-based, family oriented services for
children, adolescents and young adults, ages 4 through 21, with serious
emotional disturbances at our children's specialty clinic in Westland.
This clinic offers a variety of services designed to meet the unique
needs of children and their families/caregivers who are challenged with
the management of a range of serious emotional disturbances of childhood
and adolescents. Levels of care include traditional outpatient, clinic
and community-based case management, home-based services and wraparound.
HPI's experienced professional staff consists of
psychiatrist specifically trained in child and adolescent psychiatry and
social workers, psychologists and professional counselors who meet or
exceed Wayne County's and Michigan Department of Human Services
requirements of children's specialty treatment providers. Treatment
teams work together with each child and family to ensure that
assessments and treatment approaches are person-centered,
strength-based, comprehensive and focused on maximizing each
individual's potential.
Services include assessment and evaluation,
individualized plans of service, psychiatric evaluation and ongoing
medication management, community services coordination including primary

Adults With Serious Mental Illness
HPI's treatment programs for adults with serious illness
offer a variety of services designed to meet the unique needs of
individuals and their families/caregivers. Services include assessment
and evaluation, access to multiple levels of treatment, psychosocial,
employment and housing services, referral and coordination with external
resources, hospital care coordination, utilization of peer supports and
crisis services. Each of HPI's programs for adults with mental illness
is competent to provide services to persons with co-occurring mental
health and substance abuse disorder.
