About Us

Intensive Outpatient Programs

HPI offers intensive outpatient (IOP) programs for adults and teens with substance use disorders. IOP programs are structured, highly focused treatment services ideal for individuals who need more than weekly counseling to achieve their treatment goals. Each HPI IOP program is designed to provide a safe therapeutic environment that encourages and promotes recovery. Treatment intensity, focus and length are based on identified needs.

Intensive Outpatient

IOP is a level of care appropriate for those who have mild to moderate symptoms requiring monitoring and stabilization, those who are experiencing high stress life circumstances that make it more difficult to cope with urges and cravings to use substances, and those who have not been able to stabilize their substance use in a traditional outpatient setting.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services include:

  • Group Counseling and Therapy
  • Individual Counseling
  • Psychoeducation
  • Pharmacotherapy and Medication Management
  • Ambulatory Detoxification
  • Psychiatric Evaluation (as needed)
  • Monitoring Alcohol and Drug Use
  • Case Management
  • Community-based Support Groups

The goal of each IOP program is to provide a supportive and solution-oriented intervention tailored for each individual.  Our IOP programs strive to provide a degree of flexibility to meet the individual needs of each person. Participants are strongly encouraged to use outside resources such as AA/NA as well.

HPI's experienced professional staff consists of psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists and professional counselors. IOP teams utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions and work together to ensure that services are flexible, comprehensive and individualized. Team interventions focus on understanding the disease of addiction, effective relapse prevention planning and development of a healthy, satisfying substance-free lifestyle.
